What is the Mid Peninsula Orthodontics Kids Club?

When most people think of orthodontics, they think of teenagers, and the fact is that most orthodontic treatment begins between the ages of 9 and 14.   By age 7, most children have a mix of adult and primary (baby) teeth.  Dr. Quo can evaluate potential problems with jaw growth and emerging teeth while baby teeth are present.  The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children receive an orthodontic evaluation by the age of 7.  The majority of our young patients will not require immediate treatment, and Dr. Quo will place these children on observation so that she can regularly check on the development of the permanent teeth, jaws and face.

The Mid Peninsula Orthodontic Kids Club is designed for these young patients in active 6-12 month observation appointments.  The Kids Club will assist your child in becoming more comfortable and knowledgeable about orthodontic treatment when they begin their treatment.  We want all of our patients to feel like they are part of our office, even if they are not in active treatment.

How much does the Kids Club cost?

At your child's routine appointment, his/her growth and development will be followed until the optimal time in growth has been reached to begin orthodontic treatment.  There is NO FEE associated with the Kids Club program.

How does the Kids Club work?

It's so easy!  We'll place your child in our Under the Sea "fish tank" and we'll take his or her photo.  Every birthday, he or she will receive an appointment for a follow up visit. When the time is right to start treatment, your child will receive a complimentary comprehensive orthodontic evaluation with the Quo team to become an active patient.

How does my child sign up?

Bring your child in for an visit or bring them with a family member in treatment, and we'd be happy to help them join the club.
